Colchester Conservative Association are delighted to announce that James Cracknell OBE has been selected as their candidate for the Colchester Constituency at the next general election.
Chair of the Association, Angela Linghorn-Baker said “I am absolutely delighted to be able to announce James as our candidate for Colchester. After an exhaustive process he was the overwhelming choice of local members in a very strong field. He will bring energy and a determination to win like no other to Colchester and, once elected, will be a fantastic advocate and MP for our new City.”

Cllr Paul Dundas, Leader of the Conservative Group on Colchester City Council said “James is going to be a fantastic candidate and a fabulous MP. We had nearly 40 excellent people apply for the role but there can only be one winner and James has proved throughout his life he doesn’t do losing. I know he his keen to start straight away and I am looking forward to working with him both as a candidate and when he becomes a MP.”
James said “I am truly honoured to be selected to contest the Colchester seat at the next General Election. Nobody has won anything yet, the hard work starts now and I can’t wait. This is a fantastic city and Will has been a fantastic MP. I hope to continue his great work and build on the City status he played such an important part in securing and to meet every one of Colchester’s residents as I make it my home”.
