It was great to be out on the door in St. John's Area yesterday with Police, Fire, and Crime Commissioner Roger Hirst discussing with residents the initiatives that are driving down crime figures in Colchester and across wider Essex.
However, crime is always evolving and we must all stay on our toes. A huge part of that is you. Residents are the eyes and ears of the community. Your intelligence drives community policing teams to target hot spot areas.
That's why reporting all crimes, anti-social behaviour, and suspicious activity is vital as that final bit of information could be the key evidence needed to facilitate an arrest.
I remain committed to working with local policing and Roger, and I am championing new, swifter, and easier routes of reporting, utilising technology, and future use of social media platforms.
