Having engaged with many Colchester schools, parents and the local authority in the last few months the consistent message is that we must find greater investment in extending the scope and availability of special educational needs facilities and staffing across Essex.
In the first recent tranche of funding from the Conservative Government, Essex has been awarded an additional £19.6 million to increase its SEN schools places. A much needed springboard for SEN services which benefits Colchester directly.
I pledge as your next MP to seek and grab all avenues of funding for Colchester to ensure we get more than are share of any SEN and Alternative Provision investment.
Ensuring that every Colchester child receives the support and education they need to succeed, where hard work is rewarded and aspiration is celebrated.
